On the Road Again

I am happy to report that Andy, Gigi, Liam and I officially drove over 2000 miles and lived to tell about it! My Mom, Andy and I decided to make a trip to North Dakota to visit my Grandma...and we decided to be really brave and take Liam. Lucky for us Liam enjoys car rides and he did fantastic. Honestly he handled the drive better than the adults did. We were all really impressed.

We first drove to Minneapolis to visit my Nana, Papa, Uncle Steve, Cousins Ali, Sean & Mandy, and Ali's two little ones. Even though we only stayed over night, it was really nice to see everyone. We don't all get to be together very often. The next morning we headed out to continue on our way to Ashley, North Dakota.

For those of you who don't know, Ashley ND is where my parents grew up and is a tiny (and I mean tiny) town. There is not much to it, but it is full of memories. My sister and I spent two weeks there every summer with my Grandparents.

We all had such a good time visiting my Grandma, Great-Aunt and Great-Uncle, and cousins, Lois and Rachel. It was really nice for them all to see Andy again, and meet Liam. And of course, Grandma had a fun time playing with Liam and more importantly feeding Andy. Although there is not much to do in Ashley, we had lots of fun, and the time flew by. We took a lot of walks, had dinner with family, playing games, and even went to a town picnic. Here are some pictures of the trip.

Overall we had a great time, and I am so glad that we went up there! In other news, Liam is still getting bigger and bigger. We had recently had to upgrade to a big boy car seat, he is already wearing size 18 months clothes, and he will be 9 months in two weeks! I can't believe how fast they grow up! He now has three teeth...two on the bottom and one coming through on top. He is eating more and more solid foods (still won't touch baby food) and is pulling up on everything in sight. It is so strange to walk into his room and see him standing up in his crib! We are all doing well and just trying to enjoy the rest of our summer. It is going so fast!
